Bacchus is the prized grape for still wine in England. Some say if you like Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc you will love this.

The Wine

Vinified at the The Winery by Laneberg Wine - Team Valley Gateshead.

 

The Bacchus is dry, it is bursting with elderflower aroma and peach and green apple flavours. It is dry and has complex fruity notes and a lovely zesty length.

Judges comments: “Juicy conference pear with grapefruit tang perfumes, zesty and lively in the mouth, good purity and length.”

From Walton Brook Vineyard, Leicestershire

 

Harvested 01/10/2018,

 

Grape juice - potential alc. 11.6%, pH 3.3, TA 7.5.

 

Crushed and destemmed, then pressed in hydraulic basket press. Macerating enzyme added during pressing to maximise skin characteristics, particularly elderflower aroma. Fermented with Laffort X5 yeast, to express fruit flavours from thiols at 16°C Fermentation took 12 days.

 

It was racked three times to settle out the yeast lees and filtered and bottled on 8th February 2019.

 

Final TA 7.3g/l and pH 3.16

Residual sugar 6.1g/l - dry

Final alc. 12%

Contains sulphites at 19mg/l free sulphur dioxide

 

No animal products are used in production.

 

12% Alcohol by volume

 

6 x 750ml bottle.
