Back by popular demand, we have The Winery's second Bacchus - our 2018 Vintage went down so well, having recently gone out of stock, and so we're back with our 2019 Vintage.
With a tough act to follow, Bacchus 2019 is a stunning white wine and we're thrilled with how it has turned out - with similar flavours to its predecessor, we think our 2019 edition is going to give it a run for it's money!
Bacchus is the prized grape variety for producing still white wine in England, and for good reason. If you like a Sauvignon Blanc, you're going to love this - perfect for a social-distanced garden gathering.
The Winery by Laneberg Wine is Tyneside’s first Urban Winery. We handcraft wine from grapes grown in England with minimal intervention to let the true character of the grapes shine through.
Vinified at the The Winery by Laneberg Wine - Team Valley Gateshead.
The Bacchus is dry, it is bursting with elderflower aroma and peach and green apple flavours. It is dry and has complex fruity notes and a lovely zesty length.
100% Bacchus from Poulton Hill Vineyard, Gloucestershire.
Crushed and destemmed, then pressed in hydraulic basket press. Macerating enzyme added during pressing to maximise skin characteristics, particularly elderflower aroma. Fermented at 16°C with Lallemand ‘Sauvy’ yeast. Fermentation took 12 days. It was racked three times to settle out the yeast lees and filtered and bottled at the winery.
